Albert Peterson’s promise to his fiancée, Rose, that he will give up the music business and become an English teacher is put on hold when his one client, rock and roll superstar Conrad Birdie, is drafted into the army. Rose comes up with a plan that includes having Conrad sing Peterson’s new song “One Last Kiss” on the Ed Sullivan Show before heading off to basic training. Kim MacAfee from Sweet Apple, Ohio is chosen at random from Conrad’s national fan club to get a real “one last kiss” from the sexy superstar live on the Ed Sullivan Show. Add to this a jealous boyfriend, a father who is obsessed with being on television, Albert’s mother who is determined to break up his engagement and you have all the makings of a fun-filled musical that is suitable for the entire family. |
